Wedding Supplier Spotlight: Le Keux Vintage Salon and Parties Essex
Glamour from a gone by era is what we are bringing to the table for todays blog post - think the glamour of the golden era of Hollywood, Marilyn Monroe, Ava Gardner and so many more to name.
Today we introduce to you Le Keux Vintage Salon and Parties - Essex. Anna and her glam team focus on providing hair and beauty from vintage eras for both your look on your wedding day but also offering amazing hen party experiences for you and your squad.
So it's over to Anna to tell you more about herself and what services Le Keux offers...

At Le Keux we offer vintage styling experiences covering styles form 1920's-1960's as well as unique activities for celebrations, all within our 1950s inspired salon. It is a truly unique and uplifting space, creating a safe and welcoming environment is at the core of what we do. I love providing a space that helps build confidence and self love within our Keuxties (pronounced cuties, these are our lovely Le Keux customers).
I have loved vintage styling since I was a little girl watching old Hollywood movies with my Nan. It was with her that my fascination with the 1940's and 1950's grew, and I remember her drawing beautiful elegant ladies in full skirts that I would then colour in. As I grew older I knew I wanted to be involved in the vintage community but wasn't sure how, and then in 2019 after many years working in the events industry I saw that Le Keux were looking to now franchise the business, so after applying for a business loan I took the plunge, left my full time events role and started my very own Vintage Salon & Events business.
We are specialists in vintage styling techniques, and know all the tricks to keep those beautiful curl sets and updos lasting days. Within the salon there is really no other place like us, you can spend the day, by starting with a makeover, then photoshoot, stay for afternoon tea or a milkshake and then do a bit of shopping by browsing our range of vintage homeware and accessories, and of course our very own cosmetics line. Or book a party and choose from a dance class, craft workshop, flower crown making or cocktail making, the choice is endless!
When it comes to trends pearls are definitely a big trend this year and we love it! There are some great accessories out there that we can incorporate into wedding hairstyles. Hollywood waves are also a firm favourite for a reason, and although have always been popular within the vintage community they are definitely making a comeback on the red carpet, with celebrities such as Adele sporting the look so elegantly.
It is so special to to part of someone's bridal preparations the morning of their wedding, and to be trusted with this moment means so much.
It is always so rewarding when we see the transformation from our styling, and one of the loveliest compliments I ever received was 'You’re so talented at hair magic and also at people magic, not everyone can do both! I never knew I could look so beautiful' and its comments like that which is why I do what I do and love it! I also love it when we have photos of the day sent, its just so lovely to see how happy the couple is around their friends and family.

Our first port of call when leasing with new couples it to find out all of the details for the special day itself, if there is anyway we can help add a bit of their personality or theme into our styling we are all about this. I recently had a bride that was a big Harry Potter fan and as the wedding had this theme running through, and with the Brides House being Slytherin I created a beautiful S-Wave in the front of her hair and completed with Pageboy curls (think Dita Von Tesse).
Some people have a very clear idea of what they want to look like on their day, and others need a bit more guidance, so I always ask for images of the styles they like and to explain what they like about each look. I also ask for images of them and their bridal party so I can best advise whats achievable from their inspiration and we work together form that.
At Le Keux we make the booking process as seamless as possible, with first contact including our booking form which details all the information we need to know from our couples, such as what styling is required, how many people we are styling, approximate ceremony times and the earliest arrival time to start styling.
We include information about when to have a trial and how to arrange this, all of our terms and conditions, and a frequently asked questions section as we know there are so many questions when first looking into booking suppliers for your wedding. One of the most invaluable questions we answer in our FAQ's is how to prepare for your styling on the day of your wedding, this has helped us and our Brides so much, especially if they haven't had a trial.
Having started my business just before the pandemic hit I have learned so much as a business owner and have developed lots of other revenue streams to keep going. I was due to open March 2020, but had to wait until July 2020 due to restrictions, so was buzzing with ideas that had to be adapted to zoom calls instead of in person at the salon. During the first lockdown I did free online tutorials on our facebook/instagram/Youtube channels, I learnt how to style wigs, and I arranged a online zoom Keuxties Confidence Camp hosted by the fabulous Crayola the Drag Queen.
People often ask what's my top tip when booking hair and makeup for a special occasion and the answer is simple - always have a trial. This has proven to be invaluable as what you may have in mind my not be what you are actually comfortable with.
If you are not used to wearing much makeup don't go for a full glam look as it will feel like too much and too heavy a look. The same goes for hair, if you normally wear your hair down, i'd advise on a down style for the wedding day as you still want to look like you, just the best most glamourous version.
I am delighted to be able to offer an exclusive ‘Chosen’ promotion of 10% off any bridal styling or hen party order, secured by a non refundable 30% deposit payment. All you need to do is simply quote ‘CHOSEN10’ with your initial enquiry via email to essex@lekeuxevents.co.uk
I'm also very excited to also tell you about a new line of Le Keux cosmetics, as we relaunched our lipstick range in Autumn 2021. The new range includes 4 of our best sellers, whistle bait red, cherry bomb red, diablo rose pink and peachy keen, which are now long lasting in a matte finish, plus they come with their own applicator! The packaging is super cute too and reminiscent of vintage cosmetics, but with the bonus that they are cruelty free. Our cosmetics are available in salon or through our website at www.lekeux.com
