As if these beautiful ladies need an introduction! We’re so pleased to bring to you the stunning Valentines girls, singing group extraordinaire. The ladies have graced the Chosen stage a few times at our London shows bringing talent, glamour, vintage style and a really great atmosphere to the party!

Positively busting at the seams with energy and just pure loveliness you really couldn’t ask to meet sweeter ladies to bring the wow factor to any party, wedding or event. Not only gorgeous voices, not just pretty faces - and I’m really not just talking them up either, they really are genuinely all this just perfectly naturally! I couldn’t possibly recommend a group more and if we had it our way, the Valentines would have two more members!

So here’s a little more about their story -

Laura, Maria and Emily met on the Westend Musical Theatre circuit, collectively we have been in numerous Westend shows. Ten years ago Laura and Emily met working on a musical set in the 1920s’ “Thoroughly modern Millie”. It was on this job that we really got a feel for vintage designs and style. Later on Emily met Maria in the gym (it’s all very meet cute!!) The three of us became good friends . Our first performance was at the Soho Secret Tearooms over a year ago as a favour for a friend on Valentines day. Initially it was just a one off performance but we enjoyed ourselves so much that we decided to go for it and it has spiralled from there. We named ourselves ‘The Valentines’ in tribute to our first performance being on Valentines day! Emily enjoys working out different arrangements for us and over the year we have started to introduce modern songs with a vintage feel into our set lists. As we are friends as well as colleges we feel that we bring a friendly, fun vibe to our music. It’s important to enjoy what you do.

We always sing songs that we enjoy singing. Music inspires us. We love all the old school MGM movies such as Singing in the Rain and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. We love The Puppini Sisters- they have fabulous and interesting arrangements, super talented ladies. The Andrews Sisters and Judy Garland are also big influences in our style.

It is always so special for us to perform for a couple on their big day. Firstly, who doesn’t enjoy weddings?! Most of the songs we sing are about love and it is wonderful to be singing and watching a real life fairy tale unfold before our eyes. Recently we sang at a wedding at London Zoo- which was a fabulous venue. We sang “I can’t help falling in love with you” as the bride walked down the aisle, and it truly was such a beautiful moment to see the grooms face light up as she entered the room. Every Bride and Groom want something different to suit their wedding so it keeps things so exciting and fresh for us to design a different set to suit each event we perform at.

As far as the industry goes, we find that other business are so welcoming, friendly and willing to help and collaborate, that makes for such a lovely atmosphere to be working in.

Last year we performed at a wedding on a boat travelling down the Thames- that was amazing! The couple were delightful, it was a gorgeous wedding and when they had their slow dance a giant glitter bomb dropped onto them-it was pretty epic!

Also Emily got married last year and Maria and Laura were her bridesmaids. We sang a little ditty in the evening at her wedding- it would have been rude not to?!! Ha!

I think the most important thing to remember for Brides (and Grooms) is that is is your big day and the wedding should reflect you as a couple. Likes, interests and personal touches and don’t be afraid to go against convention. Also, (from Emily) make mental photos in your mind of the day and take at least a few minutes after the ceremony to spend with your partner and have a special moment to take everything in together before all the craziness! Oh and don’t forget to eat!

We also are self proclaimed burger connoisseurs and cake eaters. We often hold a rehearsal and then the next thing we know we find ourselves at the nearest teashop or burger bar. We not only sing in the vintage style but all three of us genuinely love vintage style and fashions. Maria and Laura are also partial to cinnabons and spectacularly ate an entire box in one sitting. I say bravo to that!

So why not pop on over to their Facebook, twitter or website and say hi, you’re in for a real treat. xo
