Calling all minimal brides, this one is for you! Today we are chatting to stationery designer Rosie and finding out all about her stunning bespoke wedding stationery. Words that spring to mind instantly when we see Rosie's work are simplistic, classic, chic, minimal and elegant. So if you are yet to send out those invites to your loved ones grab a cuppa and a biscuit and learn all about the work of Inkflower Press who is the focus of todays wedding supplier spotlight.

So let's start by finding out a little more about you and what you do within the wedding industry.
I design silkscreen printed wedding stationery, which sounds a little dry. There’s something magical about the print process though; lifting the inky screen to reveal a perfect, delicate print underneath never gets old. My business allows me to follow my passions. Nature, especially plants, has always been a massive source of inspiration for me; at college I think I was the only one not to groan at the prospect of having to draw flowers! I’m an absolute geek when it comes to paper and can happily spend hours poring over paper samples to find just the right weight and particular shade of white.
On a personal note I have a black cat called Morgan who’s violently affectionate to people he knows, and a total wuss the rest of the time. He refuses point blank to stay still for a photo, I swear he thinks the camera will steal his soul!
My super power is making meringues; I’ve got the crispy outside and marshmallowy middle down to a fine art and finally my absolute favourite place on the planet is Japan - in the back of my mind I’m always plotting a return visit.
What is your unique selling point? What makes you stand out from the crowd?
It’s a combination of things really. Before I get anywhere near a finished design there's a lot of good old-fashioned drawing with pen and paper involved. I always prefer to draw from life rather than photographs where possible, so I can get a better feel for whatever I’m working on and really explore it. The drawing stage takes time, but is well worth the effort to produce something unique. I also print and finish everything by hand, so there’s a lot of my time and care goes into the finished product.

What sort of questions do you find that couples often ask you?
A lot of the couples I speak to really value a personal connection and the fact they're getting something unique. there’s something beautiful in knowing that a real person is putting their time and energy into something just for you.
What sort of questions do you find that couples often ask you?
Couples often ask if I’m able to personalise their stationery, perhaps printing a design in a different colour, or adding extra elements into an invitation suite.
What do you think is the hardest part of planning a wedding?
Probably keeping to your vision. Planning a wedding you’ll come across so much choice and so many beautiful ideas, as well as a certain amount of advice and opinion from your loved ones. It’s very easy to get overwhelmed by it all and loose sight of the wedding you set out to create. Or is it the table plan? I know ours felt like an IQ test!

What do you find the most rewarding part of your job?
What I really love is that I’m creating work couples will want to treasure along with memories of their wedding day. Being entrusted with all the details about a couple’s wedding always makes me realise what an incredible privilege it is to do what I do. The opportunity to play a part in bringing couples plans to life is priceless.
Tell us a little about the process you go through with couples - how do you start?
The process always begins with a conversation; either face to face at a wedding show like Chosen, or via email. The very first thing I will do is listen to a couples plans. Practical details like dates and guest numbers, but also how they want their wedding to look and feel, any questions they have, the elements they’re really excited about. I love hearing about all the details, but I also think it’s important to understand how each couple sees my work fitting into their celebrations.
And finally if you could give couples planning their wedding one piece of advice - what would it be?
You don’t need to have everything. It’s very easy to get bogged down in all the trimmings and start believing things you didn’t know existed a week ago are absolute wedding essentials. Invest in the ideas that really light a spark for you - if there’s anything you’re not that excited about, do you really need it?
