Spotlight: Casterly Barn
The big question has been asked and the answer is yes – so it’s now time to get planning for the big day!
The first decision you will always have to make is where will you hold your wedding celebration? This is probably one of the most difficult decisions you will face – sometimes it’s love at first sight, and sometimes more thorough work is involved.
Today we took some time to catch up with Rachel Davies, Director of Events at Casterley Barn and asked her all about their stunning venue. So now it’s over to Rachel…..
We are a new sustainable venue on our family’s organic farm in Wiltshire. We have an exciting, contemporary offering for all sorts of events including corporate away days and team building, wellness retreats and private parties. We are a family run business who are passionate about making each and every event special and unique!
People often asks what it is that makes us stand out from the crowd put simply its the fact that we are totally of the grid. The views are so breathtaking that you feel like it is just you and your guests in the middle of nowhere – so they can party the night away in style. Combine this with the fact that we are able to produce a large amount of own energy also appeals to todays environmentally conscious couples.
Personally the best way to start the process is to have a one on one meeting with your potential venue. I always like to meet with the couple at the venue to get to know them and to discuss their ideas/ requirements so we can tailor our offering to them and I can make relevant recommendations for other suppliers that I know and trust. I believe that people trust me and the team to deliver their special day because we take the time to get to know them and are never too busy to answer their questions or requests. I will also be honest when I think things won’t work and explain why – that’s part of giving good advice is to be able to say no too!
We tend to steer clear of set packages as we feel every event should be much more personal to each and every client. We are happy to work with our expert suppliers to create unique bespoke packages. For accommodation there are many great local B&B’s and we can also offer space for camping or glamping if you want a fully immersive event. At the end of the day seeing a happy couple and our team working seamlessly together is a true highlight of my job.
The final bit of advice I recommend is this – Remember that this is your day, and everyone there wants to celebrate your marriage, so as long as you are happy with the choices they will be. You can’t always please everyone, so just please yourselves!
