Asked in a national survey recently what had to be right at their wedding, couples concluded that wedding photography was their key concern and who can blame them. This will be one of the key keepsakes from your special day and you want it to be right.
Every couple will have theit own wish list and prerequisites when it comes to choosing a photographer, and here at Chosen we are the same. At our events we always aim to showcase what we see as some of the coolest photographers out there whether it be names that have been around for sometime or some talented newcomers to the scene.
For us we love to nuture true talent, and this applies to our supplier today. Chris Francis is a Cardiff Based Photographer who will be showcasing at our Cardiff showcase this October, so we took some time to profile this cool dude!
Chris loves documenting weddings in an unobtrusive documentary style and has been doing this full time now for nearly 6 years and altogether for almost 10 years. Passionate about capturing real moments Chris Francis sees weddings as stories waiting to be told, and has a passion for telling them. He does this in a natural, documentary style, which means your wedding photos will showcase every little detail and all the personal elements that you plan into your wedding as well as your unique personalities.
Based in Cardiff, Chris provides wedding photography across the UK, and has previously travelled worldwide to cover weddings. He commits to the entire day – from the morning ‘getting ready’ scenes to the evening reception – so not a moment will be missed.
Chris became a wedding photographer after friends, having seen his amateur digital shots, began to commission his services. This was the beginning of a love of capturing weddings, which combined his passion for creativity and background in visual arts. From an early age, he loved to draw and he later achieved a BA (Hons) in Fine Art.
Having now covered countless weddings, he has come to adopt an unobtrusive style of photography. This means he will observe and blend into your day as it happens, visible but not too prominent!
Chris’ photographic style is photo-journalistic, which results in a series of natural images that tell the story of your wedding. He specialises in candid, emotive shots, so you’ll not have to worry about posing for hours on end.
Being able to adapt to the couple that book Chris is key to making a solid documentary account. Ever wedding is different and Chris is able to adapt to each couple and celebrate their individual personalities and the planning that has gone into a wedding.
Most of the couples that hire Chris are not looking for posed wedding photography but simply want the joy and love captured in a natural timeless and unobtrusive fashion. Most really do not want their photographer to be directing them all day long but also have a passion for quality moment driven photography.
Chris told us that the question he gets asked the most often is how he is able to capture the images so naturally? The solution – being able to blend into the crowd and make people feel at ease while you carry around a camera is in itself a fine art and something he has worked hard at though his wedding practice and street photography.
Chris also loves playing Chess, reading photography and Art books and like to take time to paint and draw. Living with his wide in Cardiff with dreams of living in a hotter climate.
Chris told us that couples often worry a lot about timings on the day but he said to remain reassured all the suppliers for your day will work around you to make things happen and will flow with things that may or may not pop up.
Chris’s key point was “Remember this is your wedding day, a one off, so don’t give yourself too much on the day. If need be delegate tasks to key members of the wedding party so that you are able to enjoy your special day”.
Chris will be with us at our Cardiff Autumn event on October 14th at Portland House and remember you can save money on tickets if you pre book online now HERE
