“I am asked by brides all the time what advice would i give them, for the big day, so i decided to create a 10 Wedding Day Tips I think, will make your day a memorable one.

1 – Take Your Time

Take time to plan the wedding so that on the day, everything is well planed and stress levels are kept to a minimum.

You only get to plan your wedding once, so make sure it is a fun time, not a stressful one!

2 – Be Present In Each Moment

On your wedding day, soak up all the love, joy and bliss! Enjoy!

3. Try Not To Stress (Even When It Seems Impossible).

Remember why you are getting married, and try to truly make it be an event about (and for) the both of you. Have faith in your vendors and photographer, and trust that they will do their job well! And once it’s happening, just go with it and enjoy.

Remember to take a few minutes alone with your husband or wife. I often suggest if possible that you walk ahead of me while I photograph you, which ends up being a really sweet time for you as brand-new newlyweds!

4. Prioritize, Prioritize, Prioritize.

Choose the few things that are really important to you, like the photographer and the venue, and then go from there. Be flexible on the other details and remember to have fun.

5. Accept That You Can’t Please Everyone.

You cannot make everyone happy, and trying to accommodate others will just make the whole process more daunting. This is your day; make it about you. It really is the only day that you will get that chance.

6. Celebrate Your Love (And Let Others Share Your Joy, Too).

My advice is to understand that a wedding isn’t about perfection. It is about the love you share and the vows you say. Everything else is a bonus.

Also, remember it isn’t all about you. Yes, it is your wedding and the celebration is in your honour, but a wedding is also an opportunity to thank all of the important people in your life who love and support you. It is to celebrate love, and it is meant to be fun! Enjoy it!

7. Take Time To Enjoy Each Other’s Company.

It’s so easy during wedding planning to not take time to check in with each other and just get straight to wedding to-dos. During your one year of wedding planning, it will feel like every time you see each other, we have wedding decisions to make and appointments to go to. At the end of the day, the wedding is just one day in the lifetime of a marriage. It’s important to have a good foundation going into it.

Lastly, make sure to take little moments throughout the wedding day to savour everything—the emotion, the sights, the smells, the sounds. The wedding day goes by so quickly and before you know it, all of that planning is over.

8. Hire A Co-ordinator.

The biggest piece of advice I have for brides and grooms that are planning a wedding is to hire a co-ordinator so that you can enjoy your wedding day. Your coordinator allows you to take in all of the details and actually spend time with your guests and family.

9. Let Your Creativity Flow.

No one knows your vision better than yourself so trust your own style and taste. This is your special day with your husband so make sure to enjoy it and soak up every moment. This will be one of the BEST days of your life, I promise.

10. Tips on Photography

As a last tip i would like to talk about your photography.

After all is set up, your flowers chosen, your dress already tried and ready, your venue beautiful and booked, there is one thing that will record them for life and that of course is photography.

To really get the images you deserve and that will tell the story of your day, you will need to find a photographer that understands and feels what your day is about and what you as a couple are about.

One of the things that I do, is to not only meet up with the couple but also to try and understand what they need and would like to have as their photographically memory and though of course i have my own way of seeing the story of a wedding, it is the synergy between me and the couple, that really makes my images stand out from other photographers and i would hope that you too will see the beauty and the elegance of my images.

Another question I am asked, is what do I do on a wedding day apart form taking images.

Well, first of all, it is tiring, we photographers, are working all day without a break, carrying bags, running, going up steps, concentrating on capturing the best images and on our feet all day but do I like it?  – Yes, I absolutely love it, I love the atmosphere, the ambient, the venues, the laughs and the tears of happiness, the details but above all the couples, who make the day such a special one.

I love working alongside other wedding professionals, who make sure that the couple have everything they need to make the wedding day, one of the best days in their lives.

Above all, I love having the opportunity to create images that will stand the test of time and will be seen for generations. All in all, it is a pleasure and an honour to be able to be part of such a love commitment and of such a day in a couple’s life.”
